Cherry Crest Adventure Farm's
2008 Potato Festival

This year our sign up sheets were full to overflowing for all our Potato Festival events. Our guests came ready to play and our staff worked hard to make sure that everyone had a fun time. This family friendly event grows in popularity year after year!

Hot Potato

We kicked the day off with hot potato, played with real hot potatoes. During the game, we learned a valuable lesson – when playing with real hot potatoes leave the potatoes in their foil! After replacing several broken potatoes, our staff quickly adapted. Everyone had a good laugh and a fun time.

Potato Sack Race

This old fashioned favorite is popular with all ages. Rounds started with ages 4-6 and went up through adult. Parents were cheering for kids, kids were cheering for parents, helping everyone to feel like a winner.

Potato Eating Contest

Undoubtedly the most competitive contest of the day, our guests competed to see who could be the first person to eat one whole potato. Competitors not only had to clean their plate, but also swallow every last bite. Our events staff needed to see an empty mouth before they would declare a winner.

Potato Scramble

This was a game designed just for the young'ens in the crowd. After lining up for instructions the kids were released to find every last potato hidden in our Lil' Farmer's Playland. The potatoes, of course, were not the prize. Each spud had a number which corresponded to a prize. The few lucky kids to find a #1 potato won a free Cherry Crest t-shirt.
